Welcome to The Season We Share…

a new blogging adventure focused on family and multi- generational living. Within the pages of this blog, you’ll find heartwarming stories, recipes, crafts, and family travel adventures, along with discussions of the rewards and challenges of parenting, supporting aging parents, and managing life across multiple generations.

I’m Jennifer, wife, mother, daughter, and homeschool educator.

My husband, Patrick, and I will celebrate our 30 th wedding anniversary in December 2025. We have four children: three sons – 24, 22, and 13, and a 10-year-old daughter. Even seeing that written there in black and white, I find it hard to believe they’re all in double-digits now. Where has the time gone!

Patrick and I started married life in Florida, just the two of us, carving out a life nearly a thousand miles away from our families. When the older two boys were born, however, it began to feel like we were missing something being so far from our families, so when the opportunity presented itself, we packed up the house, the kids, and the cats, and moved to Northern Virginia. Then, a few years later, a quick phone call from my mom that went something like, “The house three doors down is for sale, are you interested?,” led to us making a leap of faith move to New Jersey, to a fixer-upper house on the same street where I grew up.

Parenting is not for the weak-of-heart, but neither is walking beside your parents as they age. Both paths are filled with highs and lows, twists and turns, more joys, and more sadness than one sometimes thinks manageable, and yet, I wouldn’t trade the opportunities my family – my kids, my parents, myself and my spouse – have had to share this season of life together!

And now, dear reader, I invite you to share this season along with us, too. It is my hope that The Season We Share will grow into a community of support and encouragement, where strangers become friends who share in the blessings and challenges of living across the generations.
